A strong foundation protects your investment. Most mini storage construction projects involve pouring a foundation slightly larger than the building footprint to allow for a 1 1/2″ notch around each side, helping prevent water intrusion.
Example: A 20′ x 100′ unit requires a foundation poured at 20′ 3″ x 100′ 3″. The notch is set lower than the finished floor, and roll-up doors close flush with the threshold for a weather-resistant seal. Floors are typically 4″ thick with reinforced edges for added stability.
Note: Foundation design should be handled by a qualified engineer. Soil type, location, and local codes all impact the design, and these costs are not included in building kit pricing unless noted.
