An entrepreneur looking to open a profitable self-storage business in Cody, Wyoming, ordered this custom metal Mini Storage Outlet building to house the facility in March of 2025.
Each storage unit in the building offers 1,000 square feet of usable storage space, easily accommodating boats, RVs and other large items as well as traditional personal items or business assets. Durable and secure, the steel building provides optimal protection from the Wyoming elements and features customizations throughout that help prevent water damage and protect stored belongings.
Gutters and downspouts along the roof channel rain and snow away from the structure, keeping it from potentially compromising the building’s integrity. There are also 6” of fiberglass roof insulation and 4” of fiberglass wall insulation acting as additional barriers against condensation, both adorned with WMP-VRR facing that protects the blankets from rips, tears and damage. Heavy-duty steel partitions separate the building’s interior into private, rentable storage units, and each partition has 4” of unfaced fiberglass insulation installed inside. The building also features an 8’ liner panel along three out of four walls, providing additional protection while improving the look of the building on the inside.
Beyond protecting against moisture and condensation, the mini storage building’s insulation package also helps ensure stored items remain at optimal temperatures. It also lowers energy expenses associated with the business, lowering day-to-day operational costs.
On the outside, the self-storage business has gray walls paired with black trim and wainscoting, giving it a contemporary, professional appearance.
