Mini Storage Building Kit in Lusk, Wyoming

Mini Storage Outlet supplied this metal mini storage building in Lusk, Wyoming, in 2014.

Split into (2) sections, the building boasts (1) standard storage area and (1) open-air section designated for RV storage. The first section of the 35’x200’ building is 140’ and 9.5’ high and features a standard mini storage design with a door. The remaining 60’ of the building steps up and has a 16’ eave height and is 40’ wide.

Desert sand in color with accompanying brown trim, the mini storage complex offers (38) rentable units that vary in size. Included are (7) 5’x10’ units with 4’x7’ framed openings, (5) 10’x15’ units with 9’x8’ framed openings, (5) 10’x20’ units with 9’x8’ framed openings and (8) 10’x10’, also with 9’x8’ openings. Also included are (8) 10’x25’ units with 9’x8’ openings and (5) RV units that stands 12’x40’ and boast 10’x14’ openings. Distributed among the units are (7) 4’x7’ Janus Model 650 mini storage doors, (26) 9’x8’ Janus Model 650 mini storage doors and (5) 10’x14’ Janus Model 1950 mini storage doors. All doors feature stainless-steel latches.

Additional features of this mini storage project include a 2 5/8” roof vapor barrier to help prevent condensation, gutters and downspouts, wedge anchors and fasteners, Wyoming engineer-stamped drawings, and 29-gauge partition panels with galvalume finishes. Top and side draft stops are also included in all 10’x10’ and 10’x15’ units.

In consideration of the humid-continental climate of Lusk and the area’s typical weather and wind patterns, the mini storage building was constructed with a high wind speed of 115 mph, a ground snow load of 43 lbs. and a roof snow load of 30.1 lbs. Additional considerations at the time of construction were that 60’ of the building was to have 16’ eave height, and 60’ of the building also had to be 40’ wide.
