Two Mini Storage Buildings in Narrows, Virginia

Regency Steel Buildings supplied these (2) pre-engineered steel mini storage buildings in Narrows, Virginia, in 2015.

Together, they operate as a mini storage complex. Both buildings feature 3” WMP-VRR insulation in their roofs. The first building stands 20’x80’x8.5’ and has a 0.5:12 roof pitch, while the second stands 25’x80’x8.5’ and also has a 0.5:12 roof pitch. Inside the first building are (16) rentable storage units, all of which are 10’x10’ in size with 9’x7’ framed openings. Also included are (3) sets of 12” vertical steps at the building’s base and eave.

The second building also lodges (16) rentable units, although they are of varying sizes. Among them are (2) 10’x10’ units with 9’x7’ framed openings, (2) 10’x15’ units with 9’x7’ openings, (1) 10’x10’ unit with a 9’x8’ framed opening, (1) 10’x15’ unit with a 9’x8’ opening, (3) 10’x5’ units with 9’x8’ openings, and (3) 10’x20’ units with 9’x9’ openings. Additional rentable units include (2) 10’x10’ units with 9’x9’ openings and (2) 10’x20’ units with 9’x9’ openings. The second building also boasts (3) 12” vertical steps along its base, (1) 12” vertical step along the eave and 26-gauge movable partition panels so that storage unit sizes can be customized based on renter needs.

Distributed among the units are (20) 9’x7’ Janus Model 650 mini storage doors, (8) 9’x8’ Janus Model 650 mini storage doors and an additional (4) 9’x9’ mini storage doors of the same variety. Also included in the mini storage project are wedge anchors and fasteners, 29-gauge partition panels with galvalume finishes, gutters and downspouts and Virginia engineer-stamped drawings.

In consideration of the regions typical climate, a wind speed of 90 mph, a ground snow load of 43 lbs. and a roof snow load of 30 lbs. were engineered during construction.

The Town of Narrows is located along the New River in western Virginia’s Giles County. It sits about 6 miles outside Pearisburg and 4 miles from Rich Creek.
