Mini Storage Outlet supplied this Regency Steel Buildings climate controlled mini storage building in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. At the request of the city and their desire to stray from the standard mini storage complex look and feel, this unconventional, interior climate-controlled storage building lacks exterior doors, and boasts a bold brick exterior that blends well with its surroundings.

The aesthetically appealing storage building stands 60’x115’x9.5’ and has a 0.5:12 roof pitch, and is engineered with a wind speed of 90 mph, a ground snow load of 20 lbs. and a roof snow load of 20 lbs. in consideration of the typical climate patterns of the area. Also included in this mini storage project are engineer-stamped foundation plans and Alabama engineer-stamped building permit drawings.

To accommodate the brick exterior finish, the 24 gauge wall panels were installed reverse run. This means that the standard high rib panels are flipped during install, to allow more surface area to attach the brick mortar on the exterior of the building. Extended rake and eave trim was installed 3″ past the brick exterior in Rustic Red color to accent the brick color.

Four – 4′ wide by 7′ tall commercial exterior doors with half glass were installed on both ends of the building, allowing access to the hallways for entry to the buildings. Janus M650 doors were installed on all interior units with stainless steel latches for added security. 4″ R-13 insulation with a vapor barrier was added over the top of the roof panels to prevent condensation from forming inside the building.
